From 1 July 2007, a review of the Ministry of Health’s functions and organisational form saw changes to the Ministry’s structure and leadership.
 There are now 10 directorates in the Ministry of Health. Fepulea’i Margie Apa has been appointed to the role of Deputy Director-General, Sector Capability and Innovation Directorate.
The Pacific Health Branch has been restructured into two separate units: the Pacific Policy and Strategy team in the Health and Disability Strategy directorate and the Pacific Innovation and Capability team in the Sector Capability and Innovation directorate.
