Stephen McKernan said the aim of the reshaping was to ensure the Ministry “was in a better position to lead the sector and facilitate the sharing of information and innovation. “This is where the Pacific health sector, Pacific providers and Pacific communities have a real edge – in offering and communicating innovation that may have the potential to have real impacts on the health status of Pacific peoples.” There is a lot that other communities can learn from how Pacific communities are galvanised and work together to meet challenges, he said. “I know that there is some fantastic innovative activity going on out there and I would like to see information about these innovative ways of working shared across the health sector more generally. “This Fono, and other initiatives such as Voyages magazine, are ways the Ministry is sharing information across the sector.” Feedback on this story (0)
